Larry D. Weldy

Larry D. Weldy, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born December 21, 1939 in Nappanee to Russell and Flossie (Swoveland) Weldy.

On July 24, 1995 he married Donna Schlabaugh in Las Vegas.  She died April 3, 2012.

Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Weldy of Goshen; two sons, Brian Weldy of Georgia and Craig (Sherry) Weldy of South Bend; two step-daughters, Amanda Baumer and Staci (Bill) Lechlitner, both of Elkhart; two step-sons, Adam (Jennifer) Schooley of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Scott (Shawn) Schooley of Elkhart;  20 grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard (Violet) Weldy of New Paris and Terry (Judy) Weldy of Clarksville, Tennessee; and a half brother, Rick (Donna) Weldy of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Ron Weldy.

A former truck driver for JAYCO, Mr. Weldy was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed watching sports, especially Notre Dame.

Friends may call Tuesday, August 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Cremation at Yoder-Culp Crematory will follow visitation and burial will be at a later date in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart Hospice House.
