Larry D. Todd, 71, passed away Tuesday evening, May 19, 2009, at Elkhart General Hospital.  Larry was born to Charles and Fern (Wolfe Todd) Trumphaur in Syracuse, Indiana, on August 31, 1937.  He married Linda Humfleet on May 7, 1960, in Edwardsburg, Michigan.  She survives while his parents preceded him in death.  A lifetime resident of the area, Larry attended Goshen High School.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955, serving with the Seabees on Okinawa and the Philippine Islands.  He ended his enlistment in 1959.  After that, he became a self-employed brick mason, retiring in 1992.  He was an enthusiastic freshwater fisherman of the local lakes with Stone Lake being his favorite.  An avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed trap shooting, small game hunting, and especially his annual hunting and fishing trips in autumn to Wisconsin.  He also followed IU basketball and ND football on TV.  He was also a fan of conservative talk radio.  Larry was devoted to his wife and bride of 49 years and their five children.  He was described as a strong family man.  Larry came to know Jesus in 1997 and allowed God to become a major influence in his life.    He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Stephanie (Matthew) Muday of Vandalia, Michigan, Sharon R. Todd of Middlebury, Indiana, and Sandy (Thomas) Mortola of Howe, Indiana; one son, Stephen D. (Robin) Todd of Vandalia, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Hannah, Michael, Jason, Sarah, Devin, Trenton, Jessica, Spencer, and Preston; and three great-grandchildren, Kaelee, Kyiah, and Cody. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacy Lynn Todd, May 3, 1990, and two brothers, James E. Todd, February 7, 1966, and David A. Todd, January 12, 1994 Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009, and 10-11 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  An 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Gosser of the New Life Christian Center officiating.  Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery of Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Christian Center or Lions Club Eye Bank.
