Larry M. Sarver

Larry M. Sarver, 81, of Goshen, passed away early Sunday morning, May 7, 2017, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born February 22, 1936 in Clinton to Russell Sarver and Juanita (McClelland) Dill.

On June 12, 1954 he married Joyce Sherck in Goshen.

She survives along with two daughters, Kimberly A. (Edward) Rock of Goshen and Abbe L. McIntire of Ligonier; three grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth and Kyle; and two half siblings, Steve and Sharon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Benjamin Dill; a daughter, Margaret Jean and a son-in-law, Mark McIntire.

Larry graduated from Elkhart High School, South Bend Business College and University of Louisville Southern Police Institute.

He served with the U.S. Army in France for three years.

He was an officer of the Goshen Police Department from 1961 to 1989 and served as Chief of Police for four years.

He enjoyed golfing with his friends and fishing.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and Indiana University basketball.

Private family services will take place.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Goshen Salvation Army.
