Larry J. Pottenger, 70, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 29, 1951 in Wabash to Richard L. and Beulah M. (Grossnickle) Pottenger.
He is survived by his mother Beulah; three daughters, Anitra (Seth) Zartman of Elkhart, April (Brian) Brown of Syracuse and Addi (Brian) Kaminskis of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren, Senica, Ty, Lyric and Evik Zartman, Janae, Brenna, Adria and Jacinda Brown, Carli, Jakob and Clay Kaminskis; a brother, Don L. (Carol) Pottenger of Rochester, Michigan; a niece, Dawn (Barry) Walker and a nephew, Chad (Jennifer) Pottenger.
He is preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law, Joyce Pottenger.
Family, especially his grandchildren, were a very important part of his life.
Larry owned Super Steer Steakhouse restaurant with his parents from 1969 to 1984 and later worked as a security guard for Granger Christian School. A member of Grace Church, Granger, he volunteered with Spread Truth Ministries doing street ministry in New York City. He served six years in the Air Force Reserve.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 21 from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A Monday, November 22, 9 a.m. burial will take place at Violett Cemetery. Those interested in attending will meet at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Larry’s family for funeral expenses.
