Larry G. Moody, 74, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, October 18, 2014, at Greencroft Healthcare where he had been one day. He was born Aug. 13, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to Garman Senter and Emma Dora (Miller) Moody. In 1962 he married Darlene Hansen. She died in April 1993. Survivors include a son, Scot (Rhonda Watson) Moody of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Quinn and Kylie Warlick, both of Elkhart; and a sister, Ruth Ann Gunter of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Keith David Moody. Mr. Moody moved to Goshen in 1985 from Westerville, Ohio. He was vice president of Gemeinhardt Flute Company, Elkhart retiring in 1998. A graduate of Whitehall High School in Whitehall, Ohio, Mr. Moody went on to study at Ohio State University where he earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in music. While at Ohio State he played in their orchestra. He also played in a band, The Sultans. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Ducks and Quail Unlimited and the Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He was also a member of the Shriners and a 32nd degree Mason. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Chapel of Central College Church, Westerville, Ohio. Rev. Richard Ellsworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Larry and Darlene's names to the American Cancer Society.
