Larry Ray Miller, Sr.

Larry Ray Miller Sr., 71, of Jones, Michigan, died Tuesday afternoon, August 2, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born August 12, 1939 in Goshen to the late Ora Miller and Edna (Snodgrass) Witham. He married Margaret Moist in Petersburg, Virginia on February 6, 1966. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Ruth Lynette (Sheldon) Graber of Washington, Indiana, Brenda Darlene (Donald Baker) Miller of Marion, Iowa and Larry Ray (Maria) Miller, Jr. of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren; a sister, Judy Sutton of Elkhart; and a brother, Ronald Witham of Goshen. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Robert Miller. A longtime area resident, Mr. Miller, a Vietnam veteran, served 14 years in the US Army as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked as a an over the road truck driver. Mr. Miller was a member of the VFW, loved to fish and hunt. He was an all around outdoorsman. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. There will not be a funeral service and his body will be cremated.
