Larry Gay

Larry Gay, 82, of Elkhart died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born November 16, 1937 in Goshen to Arthur and Bessie (Koontz) Gay.

On September 6, 1958 he married Gail Audesirk in Trenton, New Jersey.  She died March 4, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Wilson of Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Heidie Gay of Elkhart; a son, Christian (Diane) Gay of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Sara (Bill) Stern, Jessica (Shawn) Peiffer, and Mia Gay; three great grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Gay of Goshen; and a sister, Betty Kurtz of Mathis, Texas.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 12 siblings.

Mr. Gay was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the Masonic Lodge.  He worked in maintenance and plumbing, holding a Blue Seal License for boilers.

Larry enjoyed fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles and bowling.  He loved his granddaughters and their children, especially times spent playing beauty parlor.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.

Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen at a later date.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
