Larry “Doughboy” Saunders, 54, of Goshen, passed away early Monday, September 5, 2016, at his home. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma a year ago.
He was born May 18, 1962 in Goshen to George Saunders and Jeanne (Moulton) Frost.
On August 14, 1983 he married Robin Rink in Goshen.
She survives along with three children, Tony Eldridge of South Bend, Shandi (Tony) Vitali of Bristol and Kelsey (fiancé John Gorsuch) Saunders of Goshen; six grandchildren; and three siblings, Jason Frost of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Shana (Shannon) Leeper of Three Rivers, Michigan and Christeena (Ray) Knowles of Florida.
A forklift driver for many years, he was working maintenance at Keystone.
He built and raced cars for 26 years, a passion he shared with his family. He was a fan of Star Trek, the Green Bay Packers and his idol Dave Marcis.
Friends may call Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Friday, September 9, funeral service will be conducted. Please wear race attire to the funeral service. Rev. Tom Clark will officiate.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family, c/o Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, to help with funeral expenses.
