Larry D. Conrad

Larry D. Conrad, 70, of Elkhart, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 23, 2016, at his home.

He was born May 28, 1945 in Elkhart to Trevlyn and Orene (Andersen) Conrad.

Survivors include four children, Jeffrey (Samantha) Conrad and Joel (Darla) Conrad, both of New Paris, Kent (Cherie) Conrad of Goshen and Jennifer Conrad of Everett, Washington; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard (Patricia) Conrad of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sharon Gayle (Smutka) Conrad.

A 1963 graduate of Concord High School, Larry went on to earn an associate’s degree from Indiana University in business.  After school his job took him to many locations around the country.  He moved back to the area in 2004.

Larry worked as a district director for the Boy Scouts of America and earned the Vigil Honor as a member of The Order of the Arrow.  He later worked as an independent consultant for housing for the elderly.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.  His cremated remains will be scattered near Darrington, Washington.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, April 28, 2016, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Church of the Brethren.  Pastor Tim Sollenberger Morphew will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Boys Scouts of America.
