Larry Lee Berger

June 13, 1942 — December 21, 2013

Larry Lee Berger, 71, of Goshen,went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family Saturday evening, December 21, 2013. He had health issues the last several years and in June was diagnosed with melanoma, which eventually took his life. He was born June 13, 1942 in Goshen to George C. and Bernice M. (Conrad) Berger. He married Marsha Bittle July 20, 1962 in Goshen. She survives along with his mother, Bernice Berger; three children, Alyse M. Webb, Amy C. Berger, and Daniel C. (Tasha) Berger, all of Goshen; five grandchildren, Nick Webb and Madison, Aidan, Andrew and Lauren Berger; and a sister, Vicki (Charles) Tredway of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his father. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Berger was co-founder and co-owner of Riverside Tool until his retirement in 1996 when he received a heart transplant. He attended Sugar Grove Church, Goshen. Larry enjoyed his grandchildren's activities and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed studying biblical history. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. In keeping with Larry's wishes, his body will be cremated and a family graveside service will be conducted at Violett Cemetery. Eldon Stoltzfus, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and Buddy, his dog. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart Faith Mission.
