Lanetia I. Stutsman, 88, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, March 21, 2009, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in Millersburg, Indiana, on January 9, 1921, to Orlando and Lottie (Groff) Whirledge. She married Walter Stutsman on December 1, 1946, at the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. He died February 21, 1993. A musician, Mrs. Stutsman was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, but had served as pianist for the West Goshen Church of the Brethren and as organist for Goshen City Church of the Brethren, First United Methodist Church, Goshen, and First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. She had also served as pianist for the Goshen Rotary Club. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Young of Greenwood, Indiana; two sons, Gene A. (Ann) Stutsman and David J. (Janice) Stutsman, both of Goshen, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Whirledge of Millersburg; and a sister, Pauline (James) Myers of Big Rapids, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, Goshen. Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Music Fund.
