Lala May Miller, 91, of Goshen, died Friday morning, June 27, 2008, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in Kalona, Iowa, on May 29, 1917, to Christian H. and Magdelena (Shetler) Hochstetler. She married Marner Miller in Kalona on February 16, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2007. A homemaker, Mrs. Miller moved to Goshen in 1946. She was a member of College Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of Greencroft Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Lowell) Miller of Goshen; two sons, David (Barbara) Miller of Mishawaka and Larry (Eleanor) Miller of Strasbourg, France; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann (George) Miller-Brunk of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marner; a son, Marlin Miller; two sisters, Lydia Yoder and Cora Brenneman; and two brothers, Henry and Ray Hochstetler. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 30, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at College Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastors Betty Hochstetler and Klaudia Smucker will officiate. A private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite World Conference; Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary or College Mennonite Church Jubilee Fund.
