L. "Dean" Miller

Lester “Dean” Miller, 86, of Goshen died Friday, May 10, 2024 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1937 in Elkhart to Levi N. and Louise (Bontrager) Miller.

On January 16, 1965 he married Lois Ward in Elkhart.

She survives along with two sons, Tim (Kathy Sears) Miller, Goshen and Tom Miller, Bristol, and two grandchildren, Tayler and Drew Miller.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry J. Miller.

A U.S. Army veteran, Dean worked as a carpenter for Frank Lower Construction, Ted Stouder Custom Home Builders and retired from DuMor Water Systems.

Dean was a “fixer”, whatever it was he could be relied upon to get it working. He was especially skilled in electronics. He enjoyed using his skills to help others and tinker at his own home that he built himself. He and Lois lived in that home for 55 years before their health wouldn’t allow it. Dean enjoyed nature, especially feeding the squirrels in the back yard. He also loved the dogs he had over the years.

A private burial with military honors will take place at Violett Cemetery.
