L. Ned Everest, 76, of Goshen, died late Sunday, November 11, 2007, at The Maples. He was born May 16, 1931, in New Paris, Indiana, to Ralph and Gladys (Stark) Everest. He married Lois Cripe on June 9, 1950 in Goshen. She survives. A truck driver for Goshen Iron & Metal; Johnson Controls and A.G. Trucking Company, was a member of the Rock Run Church of the Brethren and Elkhart County Pork Producers. He is survived by his wife, Lois; three daughters, Barbara Fisher of Fort Wayne, Loneda (Ben) Kreigh of Kendallville and Linda (Douglas) Kauffman of New Paris; a son, Michael Everest of Pierceton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Dorothy Simpson and Wanda (Owen) Stump, both of Goshen; and four brothers, Bruce and George Everest, both of Goshen, Herbert Everest of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Dean Everest of New Paris also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thane, Kenneth and Boyd Everest; and a son-in-law, Jim Weldy. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Waits of Rock Run Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Rock Run Church of the Brethren or Goshen Hospital Care at Home Hospice.
