Kurt M. Vasbinder, 37, of Goshen, died late Monday night, June 16th at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He had been ill since April. He was born November 19, 1976 in Boulder, Colorado. Surviving are his parents, George and Betty (Parks) Vasbinder, a sister, Stephanie Birkle, and three nieces, all of Goshen. A graduate of Bethany Christian High School, Kurt attended Ivy Tech and the Elkhart Career Center. Many remember him working at Piper's Pizza in Waterford during his high school and early adult years. Following that, he worked in manufacturing and trained as a welder. He worked at Cequent Towing Products (formerly Reese Hitch) for eleven years where he began as a welder and eventually moved into quality control. Kurt's interests included working on classic cars, fishing and camping. He loved animals, and over the years enjoyed the companionship of three dogs and a cat. Cremation has taken place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to IU Health Goshen Hospital Center for Cancer Care, United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or a hospice of the donor's choice.
