Khanthavy Clinger

January 5, 1966 — October 13, 2021

Our beloved Khanthavy, of London, Ohio, entered into the presence of Jesus on October 13, 2021, age 55, after battling cancer at the James Cancer Hospital Solove Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born January 5th, 1966 in Laos to ThongDeng and Pheng Luangasa.

Khanthavy along with her father, ThongDeng, and brother, John, escaped through the jungle of Laos and arrived in Goshen December 1979, literally with just the clothes on their back. Gladys and Claude Overholser, who were regarded as grandma and grandpa by Khanthavy, saw her through a severe disease when she was 14 and maintained a loving and close relationship with her all their lives.

Khanthavy graduated from Goshen High School in 1985 and attended Ball State University where she met her husband. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and loved cooking traditional Laotian dishes for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Brian Clinger; sons, Brandon and Aaron Clinger; daughter, Kayla Clinger; brothers, Phoumy Jim Luangasa, Saly Luangasa and Sisay Poy Luangasa; and her mother, Pheng Luangasa.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Khamphou and Manivanh; a brother, John Kham Luangasa and father, ThongDeng Luangasa. She was truly the center of her family and will forever be loved.

Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service.

Memorial gifts to honor Khanthavy should be directed to The Center – Family Christian Development, P.O. Box 227, Nappanee, Indiana; https://www.thecenternappanee.org.
