Kenneth W. Letherman, 79, of New Paris, died early Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital after a short illness. He was born in the family home in St. Joseph County, Indiana, on September 29, 1928, to Roscoe and Candace (Beehler) Letherman. He married Pauline Ummel on February 5, 1949, in the Wakarusa Missionary Church. She survives. A farmer, Mr. Letherman lived most of his life in the Wakarusa area. He graduated in 1946 from the Madison Township High School. He worked part time for ten years at The Cutting Edge in New Paris. He attended the Nappanee Missionary Church. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; a son, David (Sharon) Letherman of New Paris; a daughter, Brenda (Joe) Williams of Bunch, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Alice Faye Letherman of Elkhart and Helen Lechlitner of Jimtown; and a brother, Stanley Letherman of Washington D.C. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008. Cremation will follow funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel College.
