Kenneth A. Holdeman, 72, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012, at Kindred Hospital, Mishawaka. He was born December 31, 1939, in Goshen, to Paul and Lillian (Keyser) Holdeman. He married Dollie Dickerson on June 29, 1963, in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Vicky (Bruce) Haberstich of Goshen; three sons, Don (Cindy) Holdeman of Goshen, Richard (Sherry) Holdeman of Elkhart, and Paul Holdeman of Chicago; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; three brothers, Keith (Edna) Holdeman of Hawaii, Kenton (Sue) and Gilbert (Mary Ann) Holdeman, both of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. A 1957 Goshen High School graduate, he worked many years at Western Rubber, Goshen Rubber, Walmart, and as a manager at the Clark Service Station, Elkhart. He also operated Holdeman Tax Service for 25 years. He was active with many local civic and social organizations including Goshen Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of Goshen and Elkhart County United Way. He served as president of URW Local 30 and was on the Executive Board of the AFLCIO Labor Council. He enjoyed fishing, scouting, and collecting postcards, especially related to Elkhart County and Goshen. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012, funeral service will be held. Pastor Troy Scott, LifePoint Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
