Kenneth L. Bobeck

Kenneth L. Bobeck, 70, of Goshen, died early Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2008, at his home after a three month illness. He was born in Topeka, Indiana, on April 30, 1938, to Karl and Nedra (Loy) Bobeck.  He married Carole L. Drake on August 26, 1961, in West Liberty, Pennsylvania.  She preceded him in death on February 24, 2001. Mr. Bobeck, a 1956 Topeka High School graduate, retired December 31, 2007, from Godfrey Marine in Elkhart where he was a purchasing agent for over 20 years.  He served in the US Army in Berlin from 1961 to 1963.  Mr. Bobeck graduated from I.U.S.B. in 1978. He was a member of People’s Bible Church in Benton and had served as treasurer for the Boys and Girls Club in Goshen.  He enjoyed genealogy, landscaping, flowers, music and playing the piano. He is survived by a daughter, Paige (Al) Kemper of Goshen; a son, Douglas (Deb) Bobeck of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Patcie) Bobeck of Topeka; and three sisters, Karlyn (J.D.) Hostetler of Shipshewana; Karen Oesch of Howe, and Konnie (Jim) McLain of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, and a sister, Kay Bobeck. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at People’s Bible Church, Benton.  Rev. John Randolph of the People’s Bible Church and Rev. Louis Showers, former pastor of First Baptist Church, Goshen will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or People’s Bible Church.
