Kenneth O. Archer

Kenneth Owen Archer, 71, died Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2005, at his home.    He was born on August 14, 1934, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Cecil F. and Dorotha (Hill) Archer.  On April 21, 1973, in Goshen, he married Juanita Butler.  She survives.   He had lived in the LaGrange/Elkhart county area most of his life.  He retired in 2001 from Ag Trucking where he was a mechanic for 24 years.  He had also worked at DJ Construction for eight years.  He was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge #836 for 43 years.   Mr. Archer spent two years in Ehirlangen, Germany, with the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.    He enjoyed doing yard work, working on cars and traveling.  In July 2004, he traveled with his brother, Richard, to Australia for 18 days.   He is survived by his wife, Juanita, two daughters, Christine (Bill) Greenawalt and Pamela, (Richard) Dunlap, both of Goshen, two sons, Jerry (Dihanne) Archer of Goshen and Randy (Janie) Miller of Brazil, Indiana, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by six sisters, Norma Strombeck of North Webster, Indiana, Gloria (Robert) Dennis and Connie Kramer, both of Goshen, Phyllis (Jery) NcNutt and Bonnie Miller, both of Syracuse and Joyce (Marion) Ward of Wawaka, Indiana and a brother, Richard (Barbara) Archer of Goshen.   He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Miller and a brother, Thomas Archer.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Monday, November 21, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   An 11:00 am service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Jack Barthel of the Wawasee Community Bible Church will officiate.   Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Elkhart General Hospital.
