Katie was born on December 26, 1929, in LaGrange County to Jacob and Annie (Schmucker) Eash. She married Daniel L. Miller in LaGrange County on March 1, 1949. He died in May of 1971.

On September 13, 2003, Katie married Roger M. Schrock who died on December 25, 2024. Early in their marriage, Katie and Roger lived in Florida.

Katie enjoyed sewing and needle crafts. She created quilts for her children, crocheted afghans, baby blankets, and shawls and x-stitched sweatshirts for family and friends. In addition, she created many doilies in a variety of shapes and sizes which she sold in some local Goshen shops.

Katie retired from Johnson Controls in 1992.
