Katie Cramer

June 4, 1915 — July 30, 2011

Mary "Katie" Cramer, 96, of Goshen, died early Saturday evening, July 30, 2011, at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born in Goshen on June 4, 1915, to the late William and Effie Dean (Gibson) Garman. She married Howard Cramer on July 22, 1944 in Goshen. He died February 23, 1976. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Clem of Goshen, Karen (Larry) Gill of Syracuse; a son, James Cramer of Goshen; five grandchildren, Shantelle Rock, Tiffany (Rob) Horton, Nichole (Jeremy) Miller, Randy (Karen) Gill and Michael (Jeli) Gill; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Garman and five brothers, Kenton, Raymond, Donald, Wilbur and Richard Garman. Mrs. Cramer owned and operated Corner Grocer on Center Street. She also worked at IXL and as a store clerk at Middlebury Street Grocer, Everett's, Burger Dairy Store and Judd Drugs. She enjoyed watching the White Sox and Cubs. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 5:00 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Keith Huffman of Dewart Lake Friends Church will officiate. A private burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart Association.
