Goshen – Katie “Kay” Bontrager, 74, died Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born February 27, 1952 in Arthur, Illinois to Noah and Gertrude (Yoder) Schrock.
On April 5, 1980 she married Dale Bontrager in New Paris.
He survives along with her siblings, Verna Yoder, Richland Center, Wisconsin, Irene (Glen) Eby, Spooner, Wisconsin, Lena (Cal) Keepers, Sheldon, Wisconsin, Ann (Terry) Marks, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Cora (Tom) Weurfle, Topeka, Kansas; nieces, nephews, and large extended family, that will miss her joyful spirit.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Schrock, a sister, Susie Marks, and brothers-in-law, Enos Yoder and Ray Marks.
Kay worked for Shipshe Casual in the Shipshewana Flea Market for 28 years. She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed working on her crafts.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
There will also be one hour of visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service at Clinton Frame Church, Goshen. Her brother-in-law, Nate Hochstetler will officiate.
Burial will follow at Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen.
