Kathryn D. (Linsenmeyer) Claassen, 84, of Goshen died Thursday evening, May 13, 2010, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born February 9, 1926 to Fredrick and Agness (Riley) Linsenmeyer in Blue Springs, Nebraska. On June 5, 1947 she married Edward Claassen in Beatrice, Nebraska. He died January 9, 1985. Kathryn is survived by two children, Shirley (John) Dick of New Paris and Dennis (Joyce) Claassen of Estes Park, Colorado; five grandchildren Brent and Brooke Claassen, Alison (Tim) McCormick, Sarah and Laura Dick; four sisters Alma (Wayne) Spier of Beatrice, Nebraska, Helen Burger of DeWitt, Nebraska, Marie Kitt of Beatrice, Nebraska, Elsie Claassen of Goshen; and a brother, Kenneth (Pat) Linsenmeyer, Lincoln, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by a sister Lela Linsenmeyer and two brothers, Alfred L. and Ernest L. Linsenmeyer. She was a homemaker and a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen. She volunteered at Greencroft and for MCC. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2010, at The Meetinghouse, at Greencroft. Pastors Betty Hochstetler and Arlin Claassen will officiate. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 22, at First Mennonite Church, Beatrice, Nebraska with a graveside service to follow in First Mennonite Cemetery. An 11:00 a.m., memorial service will follow. Rev. Gail Cross will officiate. Memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
