Kathlyn “Katie” Hoke, 94, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, February 1, 2009, at Greencroft Healthcare.  She had been in failing health the past month. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 20, 1914, to Chauncey and Percy (Fisher) Hughes.  She married John I. Hoke on July 29, 1937, in Goshen.  He died March 4, 1977. A homemaker and a longtime Goshen resident, Mrs. Hoke graduated from Goshen High School in 1932.  She worked in the chemical lab at T & M and in the computer department for National Bank of Alaska.  Mrs. Hoke was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren where she served as a deaconess, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, David Hoke on August 15, 1987; and sister, Evelyn Comer in 1999. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with nephew Rev. Harold Comer and Pastor Bev Weaver of Goshen City Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
