Karl R. Mattix

Karl R. Mattix, 63, of Shipshewana, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2014 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing, Goshen. He was born October 11, 1951 in Elkhart to Frances Baer. Survivors include five children, Brenda (Danny) Schneider, Becky (Matt) Eby, Bryan (Debbie) Mattix, Kara (Domenick Albo) Mattix and Brandon Mattix, all of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Debra and Susan. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Mattix. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Mattix was a gun enthusiast and member of the National Rifle Assoc. He enjoyed hunting, John Wayne westerns and Star Trek movies. Friends and family will gather on Tues., November 18, 2014, for a 2 p.m., graveside service at Olive West Cemetery, County Rd. 3, Elkhart. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
