Karen A. Stroup, 65, of LaGrange, died at her home early Monday morning, June 20, 2011. She was born on December 28, 1945, in Noble County to the late Albert I. and Helen (Compton) Dull. She married Dale Stroup, Jr. on September 16, 1978 in Goshen. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1985. She is survived by three sons, Lee (Debra) Evans of Wolcottville, J. Scott (Vicki) Evans of Middlebury, and Jason (Jennifer) Stroup of Noblesville; two step-children, Lori Edmund of Goshen, and Brett (Amy) Stroup of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two brothers, Charles E. (Ursala) Dull of Denver, Colorado, and Larry D. (Wanda J.) Dullof Syracuse. She was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Jean Kring and a brother, Terry Dull. Karen was an avid bowler, winning several championships in the 70's. She also enjoyed spending time with her family playing games, watching movies, reading, doing puzzles, sitting by campfires, gardening and cooking. She will be greatly missed for her famous relish, addictive strawberry jam, birthday brownies, turkey stuffing and Christmas candy. Every season will be spent missing her culinary gifts. She retired as a seamstress from Smoker Craft. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 23, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Jim Shrock, First Baptist Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to LaGrange Police Reserves, 1201 N. Townline Road, LaGrange, IN 46761.
