Karen Hardies Bucko

Karen Hardies Bucko, 45, died on September 16, 2008 at her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota after a two year battle with ovarian cancer.       Karen was a 1980 graduate of Goshen High School.  She received a B.S. in Management from Purdue University in 1984.  She also completed the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School. Karen held the position of Vice President of International Business Planning at Compaq Computer Corp in Houston, Texas.  She relocated to Minneapolis where she worked as an independent consultant.  Karen loved her dogs and running.  She ran marathons in Boston, Houston and Chicago. Karen is survived by her mother, Marianne Hardies of Goshen; her father, Chuck (Linda) Hardies of Bristol, Indiana; a brother, Tom (Jane) Hardies, and two nieces, Jill and Anne Hardies of Hinsdale, Illinois. A memorial service was held at Christ Presbyterian Church, Edina, Minnesota on September 19.  On September 26, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. Alan Griffin, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, will lead a graveside service at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  Following the graveside service friends may call from noon to 1:30 in Hardie Hall at the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Goshen Hospital & Health Care Foundation.
