Kammi Books, 48, of Elkhart, died late Saturday night, August30, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born October 25, 1965 in Augsburg, Germany to Pamela (Butler) Dunlap and William Leroy VanHook. On November 18, 2000 she married Tom Books in Goshen. He survives along with five children, Matthew (Jaclyn) Soultz, Whitney (Jordan) Moore and Thomas (Crystal) Books II, all of Goshen, China VanHook of Warsaw and Pamela Books at home; her mother, Pamela Dunlap of Goshen; eight grandchildren; a brother, Darrin Steele of Goshen and a sister, Kelly (Allen) Konrath of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father. A lifelong resident of northern Indiana, Kammi loved being a grandmother and enjoyed doing yard work and riding motorcycle. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1 p.m., Thursday, September 4, funeral service will be conducted. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to help with funeral expenses.
