Juva Irene Snavely

Juva Irene Snavely, 84, of Ligonier, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born October 22, 1933 in Elkhart County to Frederick W. and Mary S. (Weybright) Gall.

On July 18, 1954 she married J. Wendell Snavely at the Bethany Church of the Brethren.  He died September 2, 2009.

Survivors include three children, Michael (Charlene) Snavely, Carma (Gaylord) Diaz and Greg (Nance) Snavely; a son-in-law, Jeremy (Cheryl) Nichols; a sister, Irma Gall; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gall; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Doreen Nichols in 2013.

A homemaker, Juva loved to garden, bake, quilt, sing, travel, midwife and spend time with her family.  She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma.

A private family graveside service and burial will be conducted at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Bethany Church of the Brethren, 19003 U.S. Hwy 6, New Paris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Mission, Elkhart.
