June Lucille Rodes, 91, of Port Republic, Virginia and formerly of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at her daughter’s home.
She was born June 25, 1930, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Menno Simon and Orpha (Burkhart) Eby.
On April 5, 1956, she married Joseph “Joe” O. Rodes in Hayward, Wisconsin. He died July 2, 2010.
Survivors include ten children, Emma (Isaac) Showalter of Fort Worth, Texas, Enos (Connie) Rodes of Syracuse, Ida (Leon) Heatwole of Port Republic, Virginia, Roy (Julia) Rodes of New Paris, Titus Rodes of Syracuse, June (Mike) Geiser of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Owen (Julia) Rodes of Goshen, Sue (Glenn) Zimmerman of Wakarusa, Marie (Rydell) Bontrager of Goshen and Luke (Cinde) Rodes of Broadway, Virginia; 43 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John, Menno and Mark Eby; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Coblentz.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Lee Rodes in 1975; a daughter-in-law, Waneta Rodes; three brothers, Melvin, Earl and James Eby; and two sisters, Fannie Eby and Esther Coblentz.
Mrs. Rodes was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church, 13483 C.R. 38, Goshen.
A 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 graveside service will be conducted at Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery, followed by a 3:30 p.m., memorial service at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
