June Burkholder, 84, of Goshen, died Saturday morning, August 9, 2014,at her home. She was born March 12, 1930 in Elkhart County to Joe and Dorothy (Dovel) Yoder. On June 4, 1949 she married Dallas W. Burkholder at Silver Street Mennonite Church in Goshen. He died in 1977. She is survived by four daughters, Pamela (Dan) Smith of Sargents, Colorado, Connie (Gary) Butler of Goshen, Julie (Steve) Steffen of New Paris and Sherry (Dave) Kauffman, of Lititz, Pennsylvania; two sons, Roy (Debbie) Burkholder of Montague, Michigan, and Bill (Mary) Burkholder of Kokomo; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John C. (Betty) Yoder of Elkhart, Phil Yoder of Union, Michigan, and Tom (Karen) Yoder of Sarasota, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Bill Yoder, and two sisters, Kathryn Warstler and Marjorie Stokoe. A lifelong area resident, June was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She attended Silver Street Mennonite Church in her youth; was a member of Union Center Church of the Brethren, Nappanee, for 35 years; and attended LifeSpring Community Church, Goshen, with her daughter in her later years. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Sat., Aug. 16, funeral service at Union Center Church of the Brethren, 70673 C. R. 11, Nappanee. Pastor Philip Shenk of LifeSpring Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Mack, Milford and Friends of Tabasarans, Dagestan, Russia.
