Júlio Alvarado Martínez

Júlio Alvarado Martínez, 95, of Goshen, died Monday, November 6, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

He was born April 12, 1928 in Vanegas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico to Ramón Alvarado and Eleonor Martínez.

He married María Guadalupe García in 1965. She preceded him in death on November 16, 2019.

He is survived by a daughter, R. Leonor (Román Hernández) Hernández, and a son, Júlio (Alícia Rodriguez) Alvarado García, both of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Román (Jessica) Hernández, Randall I (Gabby) Hernández, Josafath (Margarita) Hernández, Ashley Hernández, César Alvarado, Kenya Alvarado and Antonhy Alvarado; and four great-grandchildren, Lucrecia Hernández, Oliver Hernández, Natalia Hernández and Elaina Serrano Alvarado.

Mr. Martinez was a maintenance worker for rental condominiums in Mexico prior to his retirement.

After moving to Goshen to be closer to family, he attended Comunidad Cristiana Adulam, Goshen.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, November 18, from 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service at the church, 19938 C.R. 38, Goshen. Rev. Oscar and Rev. Juanita Ramos will officiate.

Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.
