Juline A. Strycker, 85, of Goshen passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021.
Julie, born October 7, 1935 to Paul and Wanda (Alexander) Schellhaas in West Milton, Ohio, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. She went on to graduate from Ball State University.
After graduating, Julie chose to follow the path of dietary health. She managed the Goshen High School cafeteria as well as working as a dietary technician at Goshen Hospital. She continued to pursue a degree in Respiratory Therapy and finished her career of service with Goshen Hospital after more than 15 years as a Respiratory Therapist.
Julie met and fell in love with E. Max Strycker. They were wed in West Milton, Ohio on Sept. 3, 1961, and were inseparable for over 60 years. They had two daughters, Annette Buss and Susan Rohrer.
Julie was a dedicated mom to her children, raising both of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Julie, a value she instilled in those around her. Julie spent much of her free time with nature. She loved to be outdoors planting, gardening or taking walks. She especially loved to walk the beaches of Florida where she spent her winters after retirement. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul Jr.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters; a brother, Richard Schellhaas; and four grandchildren, Nichole, Tommy, Tyler and Tia.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Julie’s name to Alzheimer’s Association. A private family remembrance service will take place.
