Judy Jarrett

Judy Stucky Jarrett passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 14, 1946, to Laura (Bachman) and James C. “Jim” Stucky.

Judy lived much of her life in Syracuse, graduating from Syracuse High School in 1964. After attending Ball State, Judy became a stewardess with American Airlines, retiring as a flight attendant after 37 ½ years in August, 2003. She was based in Chicago and commuted from Syracuse for a good bit of the time. After retirement, she kept herself busy, selling real estate for four years, followed by being one of the nighttime office supervisors at the Syracuse Community Center for almost 16 years.

Judy had many interests, including ceramic work, seasonal decorating, and a definite green thumb. Despite her illness, she supervised preparing her flowers for this summer. Whatever the season, watching sports, especially her Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls, was sheer enjoyment.

Judy was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church. For 22 years, she was an active member of the Syracuse Lions Club, serving 12 years as Fish Fry chairperson and as President. In recognition of her service, she received the Golden Lion award. Judy played a big part in the organization of the SHS Class of ‘64 class reunions.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, Bob Jarrett, and their son, Jeff Jarrett. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Beth Jarrett, two grandchildren Connor and Allison of Avon and brother, Curt Stucky (Doris) of Syracuse, special friends, and caregivers.

A Memorial Service will be held at Redeeming Grace Church in Syracuse at 10:30am on June 12, 2026. Donations may be given in Judy’s memory to the church.
