Judith "Judy" I. Hostetler, 59, of Goshen, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home early Wednesday morning, December 7, 2011. She was born June 8, 1952 in Logansport to Francis A. and Elizabeth C. (Steinbauer) Kummeth. She married Jackie D. Hostetler September 18, 1976 in Goshen. He survives. Also surviving are her mother, Betty Kummeth of Goshen; three children, James E. Hostetler, Frances C. (Richard) Hernandez and Anthony T. Hostetler, all of Goshen; two grandchildren, Mila and Ana; and five sisters, Sharon M. (Clare) Jarvis, Winona, Minnesota, Patricia J. Kummeth, Rochester, Minnesota, Jeanne M. (William) Binkley, Elizabeth A. Dragoo and Donna E. Garriott, all of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her father. A Goshen resident since the 1950's, Mrs. Hostetler was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Bristol, where she served as cantor for 25 years. She worked as a document administrator in the engineering department at Coachman-Forest River, Middlebury. She attended Purdue University and Goshen College and studied in France. An avid reader, she bowled in Goshen for more than 25 years. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 5:30 p.m. Rosary service will be conducted. A 10 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, funeral mass will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Bristol. Rev. Father Robert VanKempen will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
