Joyce S. Jarolin, 89 of Goshen, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Joyce is survived by two sisters Dorothy Bauer of Goshen, Indiana and Paulette (David) Mullet of Shipshewana, Indiana; three nieces, Pam Lent of Wyandotte, Michigan, Suzanne Kersten of Rockwood, Michigan, and Debbie (Kenny) Richardson of Gulf Shore, Alabama; and a nephew, Tony Monrandon of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Along with her parents, Joseph Jarolin & Elizabeth (Skoda) Bauer, Joyce was preceded in death by her baby daughter; a sister, Joan Lent, and a nephew, Robert Lent, Jr.
Joyce began her career in the travel industry at Delta Airlines in Chicago in 1955. After many years of dedicated service, she returned to Goshen and worked at several travel agencies in the area and continued helping others to make plans to travel all over the world.
After retirement, Joyce worked at the Goshen Library in the children’s department and later became a caregiver. During that same time, she was involved in the Sheltie Rescue Organization, where she lovingly fostered over a hundred dogs, providing them with care and a chance at a new life. Her home became a sanctuary for Shelties in need, where she provided not just shelter, but a loving environment for these gentle dogs to heal and flourish. Joyce was a life-time member of the Shelties Rescue of Central Indiana.
Joyce enjoyed painting, beginning with watercolors then moving on to oils, which she loved. She painted many beautiful landscapes which captured her love of the beauty of nature and animals. Her artwork was not just a testament to her talent but also the cherished legacy she leaves behind. Her family and friends will always remember her as the gifted artist who painted her love for life in vibrant colors that will never fade away.
Joyce was known for her sunny disposition, shoeing kindness and compassion to others. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Violett Cemetery at 1 p.m.
