Joshua G. Roan

August 13, 1976 — July 8, 2021

Joshua “Josh” G. Roan, 44, of Bristol, passed away Thursday evening, July 8, 2021 at Elkhart Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1976.  Joshua spent the next 18 years growing up in Orangeville, Pennsylvania.  He enjoyed growing up in a country town surrounded by his large extended family. Josh was an avid outdoors man, he loved to fish and hunt, a passion passed down from his father and grandfather. He graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1994.  He moved to Goshen, Indiana in 1995 to live with his mother.

He started his work career in 1995 at Decorator Industries, Goshen, IN before moving on to a career at Lippert Components in 2004, retiring in October 2020, as the VP of the RV Window Division.

Josh cherished time with his family. He had great love for his daughters Morgan and Jesi Roan.  Josh will be remembered for his bright red hair, his sparkling blue eyes, his sense of humor and his kind and generous heart. Josh’s dream was to have a farm, like his grandfather had in Pennsylvania, so he could fish and hunt.  He achieved this dream and was able to enjoy farm living for the past seven years. Josh loved to do projects on the farm, especially, if it involved using equipment. He loved making his house a home and enjoyed cooking for anyone who wanted to eat.  Josh made memories with his family that we can hold on to forever.

Josh Roan is survived by his daughters, Morgan Roan of Bristol and Jesi Roan of Middlebury; his parents, Lynn (Phillip) Biscan of Goshen and John (Diane) Roan of Orangeville, Pennsylvania; younger brother, Keegan Roan of Union, Michigan; a favorite uncle, James (Molly) Roan of Orangeville, Pennsylvania; and his girlfriend, Jackie Plank.   Josh is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

We take comfort in knowing that when Josh entered God’s home, he was greeted by his loving grandparents, Dorman and Grace Kocher, formerly of Benton, Pennsylvania and Willard and Helen Roan, formerly of Orangeville, Pennsylvania, that he shared many memories with growing up as a child. Josh, also, got a big hug from his aunt Hazel Ertwine, that he shared his contagious laughter and great sense of humor with.  Josh was greeted by his cousins, Simon and Sophie Kocher, formerly of Benton, Pennsylvania, like Josh, taken all too soon from us.

Josh’s favorite charities, were the Boys and Girls Club and CAPS of Goshen, sponsoring numerous funding event with his staff while employed at Lippert Components.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to these charities, in Josh’s memory.  Josh was an organ donor and even in death gave generously to others.

Viewing will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. There will also be viewing Saturday, July 17, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service, also at the funeral home. Family friend, Jack Barthel will officiate.
