Josephine Alyce (Mullett) Alexander, of Kokomo, went home to the Lord on December 8, 2013. She was born January 10, 1924 in Nappanee to Levi and Mary (Yoder) Mullett She graduated in 1942 from Nappanee High School, where she first met the love of her life and future husband, Kirby Alexander. After attending Bluffton College, she wed Kirby in August 1944 at First Mennonite Church in Nappanee. Throughout her life she cared faithfully for her family and was a devoted and active member of her church and supporter of her community. She was a member of the Delphian Reading Club, the Kokomo Morning Musicale, the Kokomo Country Club, and a charter member of PEO Chapter DY in Kokomo. Left to carry on her memory are her loving husband Kirby and their five children, Holly Bardoe, Columbus, Ohio; Bruce (Mary Jo Hardy) Alexander, Okemos, Mich.; Barbara Alexander, Kokomo, ; James (Gail) Alexander, Niles, Mich. and Scott (Kimberly) Alexander, Louisville, Ken.; 10 grandchildren, Matthew (Cheryl) Bardoe, Benjamin (Jennifer Vallier), Emily, Renee (Jeremy) Crabtree, Jamie, Audrey (Troy) Ernsberger, Shelby, Brady, Kirby Jo and Cooper; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Amelia Bardoe, and Tai and Baylee Crabtree; and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m., funeral service on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church of Kokomo, 219 W. Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Robinson, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Jo's sunny smile and warm, caring presence will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
