Joseph H. Schlabach

Joseph H. Schlabach, 57, of Goshen, died Sunday evening, September 13, 2009, at his home after a three and a half year battle with cancer. He was born in Goshen on March 26, 1952, to the late Henry J. and Elizabeth (Wingard) Schlabach. He married Sharon Kline on June 30, 1999, in Hawaii.  She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Justin (Kelly) Schlabach and Jared (Sumer) Schlabach, both of Goshen; a daughter, Renee (Jeremy Glunt, fiancé) Schlabach of Clayton, Indiana; an uncle, Jesse O. (Susie) Schlabach; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Perry J. (Dorretta) Schlabach and Henry (Mary) Schlabach, Jr., both of Goshen, and Jesse (Sylvia) Schlabach of Middlebury; and two sisters, Mary Ann (Mel P.) Miller of Middlebury, and Ida Ellen (Glen) Miller of Goshen. Mr. Schlabach worked as a service technician at Jayco.  He was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen.  He enjoyed his grandchildren, spending time with family, fishing and motorcycling. Friends may call 1-4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 16 and 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, September 17, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. A 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009, funeral service will be held at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen, with Pastors Terry Diener and Jeff Mumaw officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma.
