Joseph M. Eigsti, 91, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen. He was born April 27, 1922 to William and Anna (Hartzler) Eigsti, in Buda, Illinois. On June 26, 1949, he married Norma "Jean" Litwiller in Morton, Illinois. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2002. He is survived by three children, Eldon (Marilyn) Eigsti of Buda, Illinois, Donna (Douglas) Roth of Morton, Illinois, and Calvin Eigsti (Sara Swartzendruber) of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friend, Aldine Wyse; and a sister, Marion Nunemaker of Sterling, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Eigsti; and two brothers, Walter, and Howard Eigsti. A lifelong farmer, Mr. Eigsti was a member of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa, Ill., where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and on the church board. He also served as a school board member and as a member of the Bureau Co. Farm Bureau Board. Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Willow Springs Mennonite Church, 16621 Kentville Rd., Tiskilwa, Ill., 61368, where an 11 a.m. memorial service will be held. The Rev. Cal Zehr will officiate. A private family burial will take place in Willow Springs Mennonite Church Cemetery.
