Joseph Alvin Bachman, 61, of Bristol, died unexpectedly at his winter home in Englewood, Florida. He was born in Pomona, California, on August 8, 1949, to the late Richard Christian and Lucinda (Burkey) Bachman. He is survived by a daughter, Jillian Jo-Lee (Sean) Bachman-Underhill of Yuma, Arizona; a sister, Marianne (Rodney) Pletcher of Goshen; a brother, Frederick Bachman of Adrian, Michigan; and a brother-in-law, Harold (Elaine Unzicker) Kauffman of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a sister Jean Kauffman. A graduate of both Goshen High School and Indiana State at Terre Haute, Mr. Bachman was owner and operator of White Cloud Chimney Sweeps. He was a member of College Mennonite Church, National Chimney Sweeps and Indiana Chimney Sweeps Associations. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. Family and friends will meet at Violett Cemetery for burial on Thursday, February 10, at 1:30 p.m. Friends may also call 5 to 6 p.m., Thursday, in the Koinonia Room prior to the 6 p.m., memorial service. Pastor Rose Widmer will officiate. A light supper will follow the service in the church’s fellowship hall for family and friends. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
