Jose T. Garcia

Jose T. Garcia, 91, of Goshen died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born March 12, 1934, in Runge, Texas to Dionicio Garcia and Santos Tellez. They preceded him in death.

On April 14, 1956, he married Dora Saenz in Corcoran, California.

She survives along with four children, Minerva (Jim) Robinson of Coolidge, Arizona, Josephine (John) Garcia of California, Pete (Cindy) Garcia of Livonia, Michigan and Ruben Garcia of California; two grandchildren, Katie and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Chloe.

Mr. Garcia served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. After his honorable discharge he worked as a long-haul truck driver. Following his retirement from trucking he worked as a delivery driver for local RV manufacturers. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs football fan. In life, Mr. Garcia’s outgoing personality allowed him to easily make friends and talk with anyone who would listen. He would always want to join in on the fun wherever that would be.

Visitation will be at Yoder Culp Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, August 7, 2025, also at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Pete Ramie, Goshen Church of God will officiate.

Burial with military honors will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial gifts are encouraged for any organization that trains military service dogs, such as Four legged Fighters or 341st Training Squadron – 37th Training Wing.
