Jonas Leroy Miller, 71, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Hospice House of Elkhart County. He was born May 27, 1939 in LaGrange to the late Oba and Fannie (Miller) Miller. He married Mary Ellen Dills on June 14, 1958 in the East Goshen Mennonite Church. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary (Michelle) Miller of Elkhart; a daughter, Lisa (Jim) Steele of Middlebury; two granddaughters, Nicole and Samantha Steele; a great-granddaughter, Madelynn Butler; three sisters, Laura (Mahlon) Gingerich of Spooner, Wisconsin, Mary (Bob) Taulbee of Elkhart, and Sara (John) Miller of Cocherton, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Alvin (Barbara) Miller of Goshen and C.J. (Ann) Miller of Leo. A carpenter and handyman, Mr. Miller worked for Supreme Corporation and Jack Hertig Construction. While in the US Army he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He was a member of the Adamsville Road Church of God, Elkhart. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2011, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Robert Meckley will officiate. Burial will follow in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or Center for Hospice Care.
