Jon Slough, 67, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Dec. 31, at his home in Arnold, Missouri.
Following graduation from Concord High School, Jon worked with his father in the family precision machining business, Arrow Tool, as a tool and die maker, designer, and machine language programmer. He and his father developed inspection processes that increased the accuracy and reliability of machined parts. After leaving Arrow Tool, Jon went into computer support services and later became a DocuWare specialist and trainer. After retiring in 2021, he continued doing consulting and contract work.

In 1990, Jon represented the local radio group in the SAREX initiative to communicate with space shuttle astronauts using ham radio technology. In recent years he loved serving as a judge-advisor for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an international youth organization that holds robotic competitions to promote innovative design.
When living in Goshen, Jon was a member of College Mennonite Church.
