John F. Zak

John F. Zak, 83, died Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011, at Courtyard Healthcare where he had been since December. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 6, 1927.  He married Jean Mooren in 1955 in Ohio. A Goshen resident since August 2008, Mr. Zak worked as a water maintenance mechanic for Norfolk and Western until his retirement in the early 1980's.  He was a  member of NARVRE, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, Inc. He is survived by a son, Mark (Carla Robinson) Zak, and two granddaughters, Christa and Noel Zak, all of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his wife; a sister, Helen Golak; and three brothers, Joe, Jim and Tony Zak. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2011, at Goshen City Church of the Brethren where a 7 p.m. memorial service will be conducted.
