John C. Swanberg

John C. Swanberg, 79, of Urbana, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Champaign County Nursing Home. He was born July 13, 1934 in Goshen, to Clifford and Dorothy (Hazel) Swanberg. John is survived by his companion, Margaret Bane, Gibson City, Ill. John served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He taught 7th and 8th grade science classes at a Catholic school in Chicago. He also did computer consulting prior to moving to Champaign for semi-retirement. He enjoyed dancing, shopping, movies, operas, plays and riding around in the Mustang convertible. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Violett Cemetery,Goshen. Rev. Terry Tyler of Grace Point Presbyterian Church, Nappanee, will officiate.
