John B. Shirk

John M. Shirk, 65, of Goshen, died at home Friday morning, April 3, 2015. He was born April 4, 1949 in Goshen to Ben M. and Grace (Martin) Shirk. John is survived by nine siblings, Bertha Zimmerman, of Decker, Michigan, Anna Mary (Roy) Zimmerman, of Goshen, Ben W. (Rose) Shirk, of Goshen, Paul (Vada) Shirk, of Macon, Mississippi, Reba Zimmerman and Esther Mae (Donald) Martin, both of Decker, Michigan, Kevin (Edith) Shirk, of Brooksville, Mississippi, Ellen (Jerry) Martin, of Sandusky, Michigan and Dana (Carol) Shirk, of Cass City, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Weldon and Melvin Zimmerman. John helped on the family farm and attended Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Friends may call Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ramer Center, 24647 CR 44, Nappanee, where a 9 a.m. family prayer service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. A Wednesday funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the Yellow Creek Wisler Cemetery, Goshen.
