John W. Price

John W. Price, 84, of Elkhart, died late Friday, July 12, 2013 at Hospice House of Elkhart County. He was born February 17, 1929 in Winfield, Alabama, to Felix Elmer and Roxanna (Dodd) Price. On July 2, 1949 in Goshen, he married Alberta M. Oswald. She died on August 17, 2010. He is survived by three daughters, Judy (Ernie) Davis, of Goshen, Rebecca (Keith) Wixson, and Jo Anna (Richard Mullins) Price, both of Elkhart; five sons, Johnny (Stacey Ann), Wayne (Betty), Terry (Paula), and Tim (Lawanna), all of Goshen, and Jim (Cheryl) Price, of Adairsville, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosalie Adams, of Eldon, Missouri, Christine (Larry) Buhler, of Dupo, Illinois, Mary (David) Wright, of Missouri., and Rua Louise (Robert) Baur, of Tell City, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry; five sisters, Carrie Hyatt, Florine Hershberger, Juanita Price, Ludell Miller, and Leora Keys; and a brother, Albert Price. Mr. Price retired from the shipping department at Mogul Rubber after 44 years of service. He was a member of United Church of God, Elkhart. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, funeral will be held. Pastor Shawn Cortelyou will officiate Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to United Church of God, Elkhart or, the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
