John G. Plank, 83, of Goshen, died Wednesday night, November 6, 2013, at his home after a short illness.
He was born August 28, 1930 in Kokomo to George D. and Fannie (Hershberger) Plank.
He married Roberta N. Miller September 27, 1952 in Arthur, Illinois.
She survives along with a daughter, Janet (Orus) Goppert of New Paris; two sons, Gary (Jan) Plank of Millersburg and Kevin (Sandi) Plank of Elkhart; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella Stutzman and Irma (Dannie) Diener, both of Arthur, Illinois, and Sarah Plank of Goshen; and two brothers, David Plank of Kalona, Iowa and Irvin Plank of Grabill.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Edna Mae Plank.
He did voluntary service in Moline, Illinois. A Goshen resident since 1971, Mr. Plank was the owner of 2000 Realty. He had previously owned Smitty's Marina. Mr. Plank was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Monday at Clinton Frame Church. A 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2013, funeral service will be conducted at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. Pastors Terry Diener and Danny Yoder will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice or Clinton Frame Mennonite Church.
